Olu Maintain ‘sprays’ fans at airport

The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, may have banned the spraying of the new naira notes at social functions or ceremonies; however such notes were found in the currency denominations that Yahozee crooner, Olu Maintain splashed on his fans a few days ago.

Sources say that the afro-pop singer whose multi-platinum selling album and heavy global demand have kept him smiling heavily to the bank made the day of all of his fans who spotted him at a local airport and gingered the singer to splash out a bag of crispy notes on his cheering fans.

The incident occurred after fans who spotted him at a local airport began to singing his praises. The ‘dollar man’ as he is fondly called, immediately calmed his ‘star-struck’ audience and immediately beckoned on his bodyguards to pass him his ‘money bag’ after which the singer rained crispy naira notes on his highly overwhelmed fans.

Born Olumide Edwards Adegbolu, the singer bounced into the Nigerian music scene in 1998 one third of the trio Maintain. The group went on to record and release seven albums together before Olu decided to go solo in 2006. Making a mark with his solo debut, Maintain Reloaded, Olu Maintain blazed another trail when he recently recorded a duet with living afro beat legend, Femi Kuti.
