Nigeria to participate at the Global music trade event

Chocolate City in partnership with the British Council and the Ministry of culture and Tourism has procured the first ever Nigerian International pavilion at the biggest music trade event in the United Kingdom tagged London Calling! The global event will bring over four thousand major music industry companies and personalities featuring prominently in the two day event that will take place from the 19th to 20th of June 2008.

 

The two day event will includes live showcases, workshops, panel and  ‘speed dating’ session – a one hour session where delegates can have five minute one to one meetings with up to 10 specific UK companies who are interested in doing business with them. There will also be a two-hour ‘Meet and Greet’ session whereby Nigerian companies can meet with the UK and international industry.

 

According to the CEO of Chocolate City, Mr. Audu Maikori, London Calling is open to lawyers, banks, agents, managers, labels, distributors ,mobile telecommunication outfits, audio visual productions houses, music journalists, DJ’s, Festival promoters, Club and Bar owners. He is hopeful that the 2008 edition will serve as a means of capacity building for the Nigerian music industry and her stakeholders.
