Modenine Set for Freestyle Battle Contest in South Africa

Nigeria’s foremost lyricist, Modenine, will perform at the grand finale of Africa’s groundbreaking hip-hop reality show tagged Emcee Africa. Having embarked on an amazing journey to Ghana, Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya, Angola and South Africa in search of the King/Queen of African freestyle battle, Emcee Africa will stage its grand finale in South Africa on the 28th March 2008.

The event hosted by Africa’s pioneering 24hr music channel, Channel O and Sprite aptly tagged  The Channel O Sprite Emcee Africa will witness national winners go head to head in their quest to be crowned “Africa’s Premier Freestyle Battle Emcee.”  In what promises to be an explosive showdown in Johannesburg, South Africa the six national winners will compete for a $10,000 grand prize, a once off recording and video deal, and most importantly the Title of Africa’s Premier Freestyle Emcee.

You would recall that the Channel O Sprite Emcee Africa team were in Lagos on January 17, 2008, to stage the Nigerian leg of the event at Nimbus Arts Gallery, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Other hip-hop ambassadors across Africa billed to perform at the grand finale includes DJ Black, Professor Jay, T from the V & DJ Papercut, Nazizi, DJ Waxxy, C-Live among others.
