Rampage Over D’banj At Fantasyland

Baron De Valls (Red Wine) bash which was held at Fantasyland, Ikoyi-Lagos featured a-list performing acts Sunny Neji and D-Banj on the 17th February. The delightful event however, almost took a downward turn when it appeared that the koko master had stood his fans –and the organizers – up.

At the wee hours of the sid day, after Sunny Neji had Serenaded couples with love songs from his Off Da Hook album like Abosede and Still The One, fans became agitated when D’banj, who was the second headliner of the event was not surmoned to mount the stage. It took the skills of Dj Humility  as well as comedians, Gandoki, and Klint the Drunk to stop the audience from going on rampage.

D’Banj did not show up on time owing to a previous engagement, and the crowd became very impatient. However, the hilarious Klint De Drunk, who was not initially on the bill, stepped on stage and kept the disquieting crowd occupied until he spotted the koko master heading backstage, and with a sigh of relief announced his presence.

The overzealous bouncers almost marred the event when they prevented a Don Jazzy aide, from re-entering into the venue, after he had gone to get Don Jazzy’s blings from their car. It was obvious the koko master and his friend/label boss weren’t going to get on stage without their blings. It took the intervention of the organizers to keep things under control. D’banj more than made up for his lateness with a splendid performance, with support from his Mo Hits family- Don Jazzy, D’Prince & Wande Coal.
