Obiwon’s Protégé, Nene, Drops Debut Album

Barely four months after the release of his Oveture Plus EP, Hip-hop/R&B crooner, Obiwon is out with another hot project, but this time in an executive capacity. The singer/songwriter/producer plays all three roles on the recently released debut EP of protégé, Nene, titled My Face.

Her first single titled My Face (Comot), since its release, has received an impressive amount of airplay, both home and abroad.  “I  hope to make a positive impact with my music, attaining international recognition in the process, and probably become the first female act to sell a million copies” says the very optimistic Nene who’s grateful she has the backing of foremost management outfit, Now Muzik,  acting as her consultants.

While this might be her first solo venture, Nene (Born Nene Johnson) took her professional steps in the music scene in 2005 as one half of the now-defunct r&b duo, Xtacy. The group released mildly popular singles, Dangerous and My Baby, before drifting apart.

Her 6-track EP also contains songs such as Hu M N’anya, She and Wetin Featuing Ill Bliss, amongst others. My face the EP is released under the auspices of Kennedy Dureke’s KayDee Records.
