Nigerian Showbiz Awards Hots Up In The UK …Tuface Idibia, Olu Maintain, Others Bag Nominations

Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora will in March, witness the first ever Awards geared towards celebrating the best and the brightest of Nigeria stars in Movies, Comedy and Music. The Awards, tagged The Nigerian Showbiz Awards UK (NSA) will honor Hardwork, Creativity, Excellence and Qualitative Achievement in the growing showbiz industry.

Our entertainment industry in the last few years has exploded and made great impact across the globe and Effects international magazine – a UK based magazine – have taken the initiative to put together the first showbiz awards that will to honor Nigerian showbiz ambassadors in one single, glittering event. “It will be one night of pure fun, entertainment and excitement where the stars will shine and take the city of London by storm” says Babatunde Thomas, one of the event organizers.

Mr. Thomas also revealed that nominations process into the various sub categories is currently in progress as fans are encouraged to vote in their candidates via sms. Top nominations in the music category include, Tuface Idibia, Weird MC, and Yahoozee, by Olu Maintain for album of the year, best female artist of the year, and song of the year 2007 respectively.

The Awards which will be presented in different categories to hardworking people who have contributed one way or the other towards promoting the Nigeria entertainment industry in the categories Movies, Music, Comedy is billed for the 29th March 2008 in the heart of London.
