The road to MAMA sounds like a documentary, doesn’t it? anyway, MTV is kick-starting the celebrations of the MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) with Zain, with an all star concert tour tagged THE ROAD TO MAMA. Tour will visit the Democratic republic of Congo, South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria.
Alex Okosi, Senior Vice President & Managing Director, MTV Networks Africa, said: “The MTV Africa Music Awards with Zain is a pan-African ideal that supports talent across the continent and we want to give as many people as possible the opportunity to see the nominees in the flesh, and ultimately to encourage them to vote for their favorite artists.”
Headlining the tour is US rapper, The Game, nominee at MAMA’s Best Hip Hop category. the Game, will be supported by several acts also nominated in the inaugural MTV Africa Music Awards.
The concerts are scheduled to take place in the two weeks prior to the MTV Africa Music Awards with Zain, starting on Tuesday, 11 November. Event schedule are as follows:
